Abstract
In this chapter, McIntosh, Mabingo, Battersby, and Brown discuss adult-collaborator perspectives on working with young males in dance. Contextualized by disempowering stereotypes faced by boys who dance in Aotearoa New Zealand, the authors draw on the Tikanga Māori concept of manaakitanga in this reflection on intergenerational collaboration. Central to this chapter is the authors' collective work with Auckland-based boys' dance group the Urban Activators.
