Abstract

Abstract Background Low bone mineral density (BMD) is a complication in children with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) is an established screening tool for BMD, yet there are limited data to guide its use in children with IBD. We performed a single site retrospective analysis of the use of DXA and evaluated factors associated with low BMD.
