Abstract
Junba: Mowanjum Museum provides a community-centred multimedia account of the history and significance of the Junba dance-song tradition in the Mowanjum Aboriginal Community in the west Kimberley, Western Australia. It is a permanent exhibition of physical objects repatriated and held in the community, new objects reconstructed from living knowledges and collections, photographs of historical and contemporary practice, an audiovisual interactive touch screen and projector space, and extensive information panels that provide the biographies of significant composers, singers and dancers, and summaries of dance-songs that have been continuously practiced in the community.
