Guide to the Nafsan, South Efate collection

Abstract

This page lists materials in and about Efate (Vanuatu), in particular, the south Efate language or Nafsan. It links to historical translations as well as more recent work I have undertaken with Nafsan speakers. The collection of Nafsan language material was begun in 1996 and has grown since then, arising from my fieldwork with speakers in several periods (see the background description in my grammar, below). Subsequently there has been work by Rosey Billington (on phonetics) and Ana Krajinović (on tense, mood, and aspect).
