Abstract

Feminism & Art: Connected by Dance brought together five dance artists Sanja Krsmanović Tasić (Serbia), Tatjana Christelbauer (Austria), Iva Nerina Sibila (Croatia), Maja Šintič (Croatia) and Carol Brown (Aus/NZ) to discuss feminism in the context of contemporary dance and its historical avantgarde in Central Europe. 'Afterlives of Dances of Exile' responded to the challenge of contemporary issues of survival and migration by asking how the revitalisation of an almost disappeared dance legacy might catalyse feminist agency?
