Abstract

(Abstracted from Prenat Diagn 2022;42:87–96) “TORCH” is an acronym describing a group of congenital infections that can cause significant risk for perinatal morbidity and mortality; these infections include toxoplasmosis, rubella, cytomegalovirus (CMV), and herpes simplex virus (HSV). However, although a TORCH serology panel is often ordered during pregnancy, the diagnostic yield of this approach continues to be questioned.
