A grammatical description of Marri Ngarr

Abstract

This thesis presents the first comprehensive grammatical description of Marri Ngarr, a critically endangered Australian indigenous language traditionally spoken in the Daly River region of the Northern Territory. Prior to this research, description of Marri Ngarr was limited to descriptions of only a few aspects of the grammar. The research in this thesis documents and analyses many aspects in the grammar for the first time and extends previous research by covering other topics in more depth.
