Abstract

This article examines the impact of rock music during the Malvinas War in Argentina, focusing on the contributions of two albums released by Charly García and Luis Alberto Spinetta in 1982. Both artists utilized music as a tool for criticism and reflection within a context of media manipulation and confusion. García employed irony and parody in his lyrics to denounce the absurd war against a superior power and question media sensationalism. His music became a critical and demystifying voice, inviting the audience to reflect and question the received information.
