Abstract

Threats to judicial officers and court staff may be common and serious. They may often involve violations of court orders and may be associated with domestic and family violence. While substantial research has been conducted on threats made by perpetrators against their current of former intimate partners and on workplace threats experienced by those working in domestic and family violence support services, the issue of workplace violence directed at judicial officers and other court-based staff is limited, especially in the Australian context.
