Abstract
Background Internationally and in Australia, men are more likely to die by suicide than women, with traditional masculine norms potentially heightening this risk. However, there is limited evidence regarding the mechanisms linking masculinity to suicidality, particularly in the Australian context. Additionally, few suicide prevention interventions explicitly address masculinity, and even fewer have been empirically evaluated.
