Abstract

Women entrepreneurs in India face significant difficulties in engaging in entrepreneurship as a result of entrenched social norms and gender discrimination. As such it is important to know the factors that influence women entrepreneurs’ initiation of, engagement in and performance of entrepreneurial endeavours. To explore this, a systematic review of the existing literature is conducted on women entrepreneurs utilising the meta-framework proposed by Shepherd et al.
