Abstract
Background The aim of this study was to explore the attitudes of Australian professionals with expertise in mental health promotion and prevention towards prevention of mental ill-health and their support for government action in this area. Methods Seventy-three professionals with experience in mental health prevention and promotion were recruited through key public health, mental health promotion and prevention membership networks in Australia. An online survey explored attitudes towards the prevention of mental and physical health problems and support for government action.
