Abstract
African swine fever (ASF) is an increasing concern for ASF-free countries such as Australia. The growing number of outbreaks globally, particularly in neighbouring countries, heightens the risk of incursion. As a result, effective preparedness is essential to ensure that any signs of an outbreak can be rapidly addressed and its impact minimised. However, there is currently a lack of Australian-specific data regarding the risk of interaction and disease transmission between feral and domestic pigs. This thesis aimed to address this gap by conducting epidemiological studies to inform the parameterisation of ASF outbreak models for the Australian context. The research in this thesis explored t..
