Abstract

Background: Skin cancer is one of the most common comorbidities for liver transplant recipients (LTRs). Carcinogenesis is a multifaceted process: immunosuppression and personal risk factors such as smoking status, UV exposure, past history of skin cancer and family history of skin cancer can all play a significant role in determining the extent of skin cancer development. Objective: To undertake a large-scale retrospective case matched cohort study examining the effect of personal and transplant related risk factors in cutaneous carcinogenesis.
