Abstract

This chapter relays and extends a discussion with three experts around quality in university teaching. In shaping this chapter, we adopt a thematic structure that reflects both conceptual depth and practical relevance, consistent with its dialogic format. We begin by exploring why teaching quality matters, situating the discussion within broader educational and societal imperatives and interrogating the question “What do we mean by ‘teaching quality'?” The discussion examines programs designed to support and measure teaching quality, acknowledging the challenges, complexities and tensions that educators and institutions navigate in their development and implementation.
