Artful ways of being an Educator

Abstract

Art matters and poetry is necessary for education. In my creative submission, I advocate for poetry writing as a method of critical reflection for educators and creative practitioners. I also advocate for a poetical aesthetic in our living, teaching and writing, in response to a University sector that is becoming increasingly managerialised and measurable – signified by the ‘Job-Ready Graduates’ scheme and declining support for art education, research and practice.
