Evolving research directions toward practical bridge health monitoring with streaming data

Abstract

The rapid expansion of continuous sensing has led to major growth in research on bridge structural health monitoring (SHM), with studies now addressing a wide range of problems. This review is intentionally scoped to 2022–2025 and complements rather than replaces broader foundational SHM literature. Although the existing literature is rich from many viewpoints, there is still no clear synthesis that organizes streaming-based bridge SHM studies by their core research directions.
