Abstract

There have been many declarations of the death of the Weinberg model of spontaneous CP violation. However, these studies relied on the assumption of unrealistically small errors in the theoretical uncertainties in the calculations of the relevant observables, and a realistic estimate of the errors shows that the Weinberg model cannot be ruled out on the basis used in the past—the experimental values on ε in K0-K0 mixing, the neutron electric dipole moment (EDM), the branching ratio of b→sγ, and the earlier upper limit on ε′/ε.
