Abstract
New measures for the dispersion of dependency in a situation-resource grid are derived from information theory. These can be computed for any grid containing dependency data, and they lie in a standardized zero-one range. The bivariate counterpart, the uncertainty coefficient, can be used to show the relationship betitven situations and resources and differentiate between dilated and healthy dispersion of dependency. Seriation, a technique which reorders such grids to highlight similarity in dependency profiles, also produces a differentiating index, the correlation ratio.
