The synthesis and crystal structures of two cobalt(III) complexes containing the ligand 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane

Abstract

The new cobalt(III) complex [Co(cyclam)(NO3)2]NO3·HNO3 (2) has been synthesized. The crystal structure of this complex and the related complex [Co(cyclam)(NH3)2]Cl2BF4·2H 2O (1) have been determined. Crystal data for (1): M 451.04, monoclinic, space group P21/c (No. 14), a 7.3927(10), b 13.3082(7), c 19.524(2) Å, β 97.625(14)°, V 1903.9(3) Å3, F(000) 936, Z4, Dc 1.574 g cm-3, μ 1.225 cm-1, Mo Kα (graphite monochromatized) λ 0.71073 Å, T 293(1) K.
