Abstract

Abstract In Chapters 1 and 2 the incidence and prevalence of fatigue as a facet of the cancer experience has been clearly stated. Its complex, multidimensional nature has been explored and challenges inherent to its management will be alluded to in Chapter 12. Nevertheless, despite an acknowledgement of its multifaceted nature and its propensity to impact on numerous domains of quality of life (see Chapters 6 and 13) little has been written of lay conceptualizations of fatigue within the context of cancer and cancer treatment.
