Comment on molecular dating of the age of eucalypts

Abstract

Comment is provided on a recent paper by Crisp et al. (2004) that includes estimates of the age of divergence events for the eucalypt group. Deriving dates from sequence data has some inherent problems, and for the eucalypts these vary several fold compared with estimates based on other data. © CSIRO.
