An international comparison of final-year design project curricula

Abstract

A design project at 15 chemical engineering departments and the information obtained on Australian courses was obtained during project workshop organized by the Australian based Education Subject Group of the Institution of Chemical Engineers. There was a requirement to complete a Hazard and Operability study but generally the emphasis on health, safety and the environmental was minimal. Emphasis within chemical engineering education has shifted to focus learning outcomes beyond only a technical nature.
