Constituent loads and concentrations in the waterways and receiving waters of Port Phillip and Westernport Bays are of concern from both an ecological and a management perspective. In line with Victorian Government policy, Port Phillip catchment agencies have to plan by year end 2006 for a target load reduction of 1000 tonne of Nitrogen entering the Bay. Preliminary studies have been undertaken over recent years, and much greater understanding of catchment loads and processes exists. This paper reports on development of a dynamic whole-of-catchment model for the Port Phillip Bay and Western Port catchments. The model was built using the E2 catchment modelling system, and supports investigati..
