Abstract

This paper aims to explore theoretical models for evaluating the torsional behaviour of reinforced concrete beams. This paper aims to explore theoretical models for evaluating the torsional behaviour of reinforced concrete beams. The paper investigates the applicability and extension of existing analytical models and constitutive relationships developed for normal strength concrete to high-strength concrete. The verification models include the space truss model, skew-bending theory and softening truss model theory. The paper presents an assessment of the present Australian Standard AS3600 for the torsional capacity of high-strength reinforced concrete beams in order to make suggestions on ho..
