Understanding performance measures of reservoirs

Abstract

This paper examines 10 reservoir performance metrics including time and volume based reliability, several measures of resilience and vulnerability, drought risk index and sustainability. Both historical and stochastically generated streamflows are considered as inflows to a range of hypothetical storage on four rivers-Earn river in the United Kingdom, Hatchie river in the United States, Richmond river in Australia and the Vis river in South Africa.
