Abstract

We report the first observation of the charmless vector-vector decay process [Formula presented]. The measurement uses a [Formula presented] data sample collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric [Formula presented] collider operating at the [Formula presented] resonance. We obtain a branching fraction of [Formula presented]. An analysis of the [Formula presented] helicity-angle distributions gives a longitudinal polarization fraction of [Formula presented]. We also measure the direct-[Formula presented]-violating asymmetry [Formula presented]. © 2003 The American Physical Society.
