Abstract

This paper explores the form Media Studies needs to take in the twenty‐first century. We propose replacing the theory–practice opposition with criticism–creativity, and going beyond the written essay as the only means of assessment by providing students with an embedded learning environment in which they embrace media practices as a means of responding to and criticising the media.
