Metallodielectric opals of layer-by-layer processed coated colloids

Abstract

PE multilayer-and PE/Aunp-coated PS colloids were prepared by the LbL method and crystallized into ordered arrays. Both dielectric and metallodielectric opals were prepared. Crystalline arrays of the PE multilayer-coated colloids were shown to be useful templates for infiltrating small gold nanoparticles.
