Hollow titania spheres from layered precursor deposition on sacrificial colloidal core particles

Abstract

A simple and effective stepwise route to the formation of hollow spheres of titania was demonstrated. Using the LbL-colloid templating strategy, the inorganic molecular precursor TALH was sequentially adsorbed in alternation with PDADMAC at a density and distribution that is amenable to forming hollow titania spheres upon calcination.
