Functionalized thiosemicarbazone clusters of copper(I) and silver(I)

Abstract

Reaction of [Cu(MeCN)4]+ with thiosemicarbazones bearing groups such as phenol, pyridine, or ferrocene gives tetranuclear or hexanuclear clusters with functional substituents; analogous air stable fluorescent clusters can also be prepared with Ag(I).
