Abstract

Public life is full of emotions. Understanding better how this emotionality works is an urgent challenge for the sciences and the humanities. Without such understanding, there is limited scope for comprehending patterns of public speech and action generally, or for limiting conflict. This book presents new thinking from several disciplines and traditions, to contribute to a conversation on how best to develop our understanding of public emotions.
