Abstract
Increasing sophistications and complexity of modern projects create new challenges to design management practices. This paper discusses an integrated approach for managing design complexity in engineering projects. Innovations in architectural design, construction processes, information technology and communications and increasing regulations have significant contributions in resulting complexity of projects.
