Abstract
The synthesis of five fused-bicyclic medium-ring lactones carrying identical ring-fusion to that in the polyether toxins is described using an enolate hydroxylation, intramolecular hydrosilation, Claisen rearrangement sequence. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2008.
