Abstract

What influences encourage and discourage long-term use of an Information System (IS)? In a longitudinal study over 14 months, we examine use of a Learning Management System in an educational setting. New influences emerge as users employ technology to suit varying needs in work environments at varying times. Findings from the study reveal that rejection of a technology may take place long after adoption if users do not experience long-term benefits or are unable to resolve persistent issues.
