Abstract

PURPOSE OF THE REPORT: 1) to investigate the ability of Tc-99m-tin fluoride colloid (Tc-99m TFC) to label equine and canine leukocytes in whole blood and measure cell viability, 2) to identify the distribution of radioactivity among blood components in horses, 3) to measure the labelling efficiency and cell viability in leukocyte-rich plasma (LRP) of horses. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Blood samples from 10 horses and 10 dogs were labelled with Tc-99m TFC (IGBq) using a standard procedure to determine the labelling efficiency and leukocyte viability. After this step, the radioactive equine blood samples were layered onto histopaque density gradient (1077) solution and centrifuged at 370 g for 10 ..
