Abstract

We study the impact of Equalization-Enhanced Phase Noise (EEPN) for 100Gb/s coherent systems using electronic dispersion compensation through simulations. Power penalties are compared with theoretical predictions and the effects of transmitter phase noise are investigated. © 2009 IEEE.
