Abstract
A low-cost in-band OSNR monitor based on digital spectral slice manipulation is proposed and demonstrated. The proposed technique predicts the OSNR from the digital samples of the electrical transform of a high speed optical signal detected via a low-speed photodetector. © 2009 IEEE.
