Cystectomy in Patients With Spinal Cord Injury: Indications and Long-Term Outcomes

Abstract
PURPOSE: We evaluated indications and outcomes of cystectomy in patients with spinal cord injury in a urology unit attached to a statewide spinal cord injury service. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We performed a review of all patients with spinal cord injury in our database who underwent cystectomy between 1997 and 2008. Demographic, pathological and perioperative data were collected. Oncological outcomes were documented for those with malignant indications while patient satisfaction was recorded using the Patient Global Impression of Improvement scale for all patients.
