Abstract

A versatile approach has been developed using plasma polymerization to fabricate functional Janus particles. A brominated plasma polymer is toposelectively deposited on a monolayer of silica microparticles, endowing the particles with a chemically reactive polymeric and silica hemisphere. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2010.
