Abstract
The management options for ectatic disorders of the cornea range from contact lenses to corneal transplantation. Although contact lenses and s ectacles are effective in the early stages, advanced corneal ectasias require surgical measures including partial- and full-thickness keratoplasty. In recent years, a variety of novel treatment modalities have emerged, which include collagen cross-linking, intra-stromal implants and the use of femtosecond lasers for performing keratoplasties. This article outlines a few important surgical approaches that can be used for the management of ectatic corneal disorders.
