Abstract

Computer game technology is advancing rapidly and is beginning to find application in landscape planning. This paper looks especially at the opportunities afforded by the advances in virtual reality games and their use as collaborative virtual environments and then at location based games and their potential to be a source of information for players, researchers and decision-makers. A new breed of game oriented researchers within landscape focused multi-disciplinary teams may be about to emerge. © 2011 Elsevier B.V.
