Abstract

In this chapter we present an overview of dementia services and the general state of affairs regarding dementia in five countries, representing Australasia: Australia China India Japan South Korea Australia China India Japan South Korea All expect increases in incidence and prevalence of dementias. Australia describes a complex health system with three levels of government involvement plus private providers. There are a variety of multidisciplinary teams with varying service specifications. It has seen overall improvement of services and education and training over the past 20 years.
