A 60-GHz coplanar waveguide series feeding antenna array for transceiver front-end integration

Abstract

In this paper, we present a coplanar waveguide series feeding antenna array for millimeter wave applications. It is designed for integration with CMOS transceiver chip using standard printed circuits board technology. The coplanar waveguide fed antenna design is suitable for both, flip-chip and standard wire bonding types of integration. Measured results show that a linear array of four CPW patches exhibits gain of 11.5 dBi and input matching bandwidth of 10%. The presented design leads to complete integration of antenna over the frequency band of interest. © 2011 ELMAR (Electronics in Marines).
