Explaining geographic diversity of editorial boards: The role of conference participation and English-language skills

Abstract
As the academic world has become smaller through developments such as international exchanges and electronic communication, editorial boards of management journals should have become more geographically diverse. However, we do not know what contributes to increased geographic diversity in editorial boards. This paper examines geographic diversity in editorial boards in management through secondary data from 57 journals over 20 years, covering approximately 16,000 editorial board members.
