Embedding business intelligence systems within organisations

Abstract

Embedding business intelligence systems within organisations requires a seamless integration of technology, business processes and routines into the fabric of the organisation. In this paper, we propose a set of five dimensions for embeddedness of business intelligence systems within organisations. We argue that these dimensions can be related to different types of problem. We then present four case studies and a number of key insights emerge from a cross case analysis. © 2012 The authors and IOS Press.
