Abstract

The article explores the potential uses of crowdsourcing in cadastres. While the quality of data is not comparable, establishing a cadastre through crowdsourcing can be an efficient way for countries lacking in resources to support land registration. The land sector in developing countries usually suffers from largescale corruption due to cadastral incompleteness. Furthermore, regulatory frameworks and administrative procedures involved in running a cadastral system of surveys are time-consuming and cause delays. Technology can help citizens to measure boundaries, but that does not mean they are able to make the necessary decisions relating to defining and describing conflicting interests. C..
