Abstract

Universities in the Philippines are moving towards enhancing research while the government is seeking to work with them in promoting research nationally. However, there is a concern on the current capacities of universities to train and develop academic staff and students in research. Thus, there is a fundamental need to sketch the landscape within which research training is situated in the Philippines.
