Abstract
A just-in-time dynamic bandwidth allocation algorithm exploiting the sleep/doze capabilities of a VCSEL ONU is proposed for 10 Gbps EPON. The algorithm uses fixed polling cycle times to achieve substantial energy-savings at low network loads. © 2013 IEICE.
