Optical trapping of nanoparticles in resonant cavities: Optical tweezers with single particle selectivity

Abstract

We present the first theoretical analysis on the opto-mechanical interactions between a nanoparticle and the optical field inside an optical resonant nano-cavity. We illustrate single particle trapping from monodispersed particles based on size-dependent trapping dynamics. © 2009 Optical Society of America.
